Introduces New Line of School Snacks
Which Meet Latest Ministry of Education Guidelines

The timing couldn't have been better for a local supplier of healthy meals and snacks to area schools as the launch of their new, nutritious line of "Pita Puffs" snacks coincided with the latest Ontario government crackdown on junk food in schools.
"We applaud the food guidelines for elementary schools announced today by Education Minister Gerard Kennedy." says Gigi Deelstra, President of Kidssentials® - The Catering Servicefor Kids. "While we have been offering nutritious and delicious food to school children for eight years, we are glad to see that children will be offered more healthy food choices in Ontario schools. Our new "Pita Puffs" snack will allow us to offer children yet another source for healthy snacks."
Kidssentials, of Mississauga, has a longstanding tradition of providing nutritious meals and snacks to school children. The new "Pita Puffs" snacks offer a healthy alternative to chips and other snacks frequently found in school vending machines and lunch bags. Schools will now be able to offer "Pita Puffs" under the new Ministry of Education guidelines announced yesterday. The snacks, already available from Kidssentials to schools, are free of saturated fats, trans-fats and cholesterol and come in a variety of popular flavours.
"Pita Puffs" snacks are available as part of Kidssentials' Hot Lunch and Snack programmes as well as for sale in schools, which could include vending machines. "Pita Puffs" are a nutritious alternative to potato chips and come in Cinnamon, Barbecue, Ranch, Pizza and Salsa flavours.
"Feedback to the "Pita Puffs" snack has been phenomenal, and we are pleased to make this product available to the many public, separate and private schools we service in Halton, Peel and Toronto. "Pita Puffs" are a new way we are achieving our goal of offering children nutritious and delicious food that they will actually want to eat." says Ms. Deelstra.
